Banksy

Though he's been around a while, I've just been turned on to the work of Banksy, a renowned UK graffiti artist, and I wanted to post up something about him, as it's really cool stuff and worth a look. Some of the images make some kind of social commentary and most are definitely thought-provoking. And at the very least interesting to see.

He was recently on a "tour" of the United States, where his trademark work started to appear in New Orleans and then New York City.

A semi-regular feature in which the undersigned takes a cellphone cam to the kicks he is rocking on any given evening.

And without further ado, tonight I am rocking the classic white/navy Basket. One of the few Suede/Basket/Clydes I do not rock with the lace and formstrip colors matching.

Puma Yacht Battleship

Seems Puma has designed a boat shoe/deck shoe called the Yacht Battleship. Solid colors, rich suede, stitching, rubber soles. Not exactly what you'd expect from Puma, but at least to me, it's pretty cool to see them, a traditional sneaker brand, release something slightly different. Something about Puma doing a deck shoe makes them cooler IMO, I'm digging them. I think the brown ones would especially sweet with nice plaid shorts (no socks of course ). Snaps and links below.

Puma Dallas - new colorways

Augmenting the recently released Dallas model, Puma is launching some "Summer" colorways of this sweet sneaker. Low profile, suede, clean lines - what's not to like ?? I'm definitely feelin' the yellow-blue combo.

I've asked Puma US and UK - they say they have no way of knowing what's in their product range! I saw them at a market in Catania, Sicily a couple of months ago. The stall holder said they were salesman's samples and he only had one pair. So I went to the ATM, came back half an hour later and they were gone. They were very, very light - the weight of running flats. They're exactly what I want!

I just kinda realized that I have several cool little Puma keychains & thought it would be fun to share the pics of these little trinkets

- the rubiks cube came with the Solebox R698s, as a little bonus gift
- the V-Konstrukt mini gloves came with the actual 'keeper gloves
- I bought the Montreal Impact one at a game this summer (Puma sponsors the team)
- found the hat and shoe on ebay.

Not sure I have enough keys for all of them

Your Shoe Closet

Photos of your red, black, green, grey or what ever color box your collection resides in. I have two closets in my new house. My man cave has a full closet where I have dedicated one half of the closet to recreation equipment. Specifically I have shoe boxes on the floor and skiing clothes on the shelves and hangers. I recently moved from 1700 square feet to a new home with 4000+ feet. I even added a 1000+ apartment over the garage for my daughter. I have been really busy so I am now trying to get back into the swing of things.
Here is a shot of some of my collection and I want shots of your collection. I orginally was going to dedicate the office to Puma but since I must have a "presentable" space (according to my lovely wife)I have resorted to storing some in here and the rest in my walk in closet.

what are some of your favorite brands of jeans? i don't know what to look for anymore. i've recently owned blood & glitter, diesel, energie, lee, levi's, paper denim, puma evisu (rigid, regular), and wesc. there's a few things i look at; mostly: fit, denim used/wash, and quality.

quality:
levi's capital E
LEE gold label

fit (i prefer low rise, straight leg, regular fit):
energie morris straight
puma evisu regular

denim:
blood & glitter; even after some washes, a great raw look
LEE; beautiful raw denim
levi's capital E; same
puma evisus (rigid); these were great at first, but i've worn the hell out of them

i could write some more boring stuff about what i like/dislike about each brand, but i'm really just trying to find more brands out there. i'd like to find a nice pair of cheap mondays that aren't too tight. they're an inexpensive brand, have selvage stitching and raw, unwashed denim.

what are some of your favorite brands (for those who are as anal about their jeans as they are about their shoes)?

As you will have noticed, the PT forum has undergone something of an overhaul to improve its look and user-friendliness. The layout and structure (sections, etc) remain the same, so all the threads you like to browse should still be easy to find.

But it is a work in progress and we may experience a few blips over the next few days as the redesign is completed. More info to follow...

Please keep enjoying all the great Puma and related info, etc.

Yes, that's right! It's not a joke! The PUMA Phone will be launched in the 2nd quarter of 2010 for almost 400Euros! Check the video below. My opinion, this is a failure. The phone is too slow, its a first gen, and a brand phone and will never pick up the hype because the niche is weak, and uninterested in being a controlled by the corporate world.

Puma x UNDFTD Gumball 3000 Comp Star

Celebrating this year's Gumball 3000 car rally, Puma has collaborated with sneaker shop UNDFTD on the Comp Star. Lush green suede and a very cool profile on this one, it's got a nice retro sneaker feel. Will be a limited release, on May 10.

just a quick headsup. the following will be coming to an auction site near you in the very near future. 100% of proceeds will be going towards the avon walk for breast cancer. some pretty rare stuff here, including two pairs of hand-inked clyde samples done by RobL himself and a pair of alife xs850s (1 of only 12 made).

(all are US 10s except the 850s which are 11s)

everyone likes boobs, right? well, get ready to do your part to help eradicate this insidious disease. all sales are tax deductible in the US, btw. stay tuned....

Puma Clever Little Bag

Puma has collaborated with designer Yves Behar to come up with a new "shoe box" that actually uses 65% less cardboard and no tissue paper. Much of the packaging is replaced with a 'clever little bag'. It has reduced the overall weight and takes up less space. Quite an interesting idea, and very cool design idea IMO.

Hopefully being more lightweight will mean lower shipping costs when we order Puma kicks, but somehow I expect sneaker stores to still double-box them No word on when or where these will be rolled out.
